KBA Field Day w/ Ted Sims @Kentucky Country Day

A spring hive inspection involves carefully examining the condition of bee colonies as winter transitions into spring. KBA Educational Session on Honey/Beekeeping Competitions @ Kentucky State Fair

Join us at the State Fair for a tour of the Kentucky State Beekeepers Association exhibit. This is not our usual meeting, but we will have a chance to support the KSBA and our own Beth Wagner and (hoping) our State Apiarist, Tammy Potter and the American Honey Queen. Topics include how to submit honey products, judging and general beekeeping topics. Admission to the Fair is required, but we promise an informative and fun evening!

We are an active local beekeeping community hosting public educational events and hands-on field days since 1976. The Louisville, Kentucky metro area and surrounding counties are full of beekeepers! You may even have one living on your street, keeping bees in their backyard, without even knowing it. Often quirky, sometimes funny, but always interesting, the urban beekeeper loves to share knowledge on the life and benefits of honeybees and the challenging yet entertaining hobby of being a beekeeper.
