Certified Kentucky Honey Producers (CKHP)

The Certified Kentucky Honey Producers, https://kybees.org/About-CKHP, is a program developed in 2019 to provide proof of source; certification that honey was foraged by Kentucky honey bees from Kentucky nectar sources located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Currently, FDA bottling requirements only require the address of where the honey was packed and bottled which is not necessarily where the honey was produced and can lead to relabeling of imported honey. CKHP also surpasses the requirements of “Kentucky Proud”, which only requires the company to be located in Kentucky and does not require proof of source.

Look for the CKHP label at your next farmers market.
