Join the Beekeeping Community

the Louisville and Southern Indiana area is full of beekeepers! You may even have one living on your street, keeping bees in their backyard, without even knowing it. Often quirky, sometimes funny, but always interesting, the urban beekeeper loves to share his/her knowledge with others and discuss the wonderful life of honeybees and the challenging and entertaining hobby of a being a beekeeper

The Kentuckiana Beekeepers Association supports beekeepers and honeybees!

The KBA's mission is to: * further the advancement of apiculture * promote legislation to protect and assist beekeeping as an industry and/or hobby * inform members about honeybees and beekeeping * provide a forum for training in the art of beekeeping, the production of honey and other hive products * inform the public about the importance and contribution of honeybees, to the welfare of all people * encourage others to become members of the KBA. ABOUT US

THE KBA IS A LOCAL BEEKEEPING CLUB SERVING LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY AND SOUTHERN INDIANA.

We have field days, workshops, general meetings, and provide swarm removal services.  Our general meetings include a business meeting and an educational program. These are held monthly on one Sunday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the Louisville Nature Center, 3745 Illinois Ave, Louisville, KY 40213 during inactive months and in active months we hold field days (April-July and September). Our workshops and field days are hands-on experiences when we actually open up and look inside beehives.  Please check our event calendar for accurate meeting information.  Our primary contact goes to our officers at kba@kyanabees.com.  Please contact us with any educational outreach requests or questions about becoming a beekeeper!
